Abstract:Objective:To systematically analyze the curative effect and safety of external treatment of Chinese medicine for incomplete intestinal obstruction. Methods: By searching for the databases including PubMed, Cochranelibrary, Medline, CNKI, VIP and WANFANG, the randomized controlled trials on external treatment of Chinese medicine for incomplete intestinal obstruction from October 2015 to October 2020 were collected, modified Jadad Scale was used to objectively evaluate the quality of the included RCTs, and RevMan5.3 software was used for Meta- analysis of outcome indexes. Results:Eight literature studies involving 707 cases of patients were included. Meta- analysis results showed that when compared with that in the control group, external treatment of Chinese medicine for incomplete intestinal obstruction could improve the total effective rate and cure rate, differences being significant(P<0.05); but it could not improve the abdominal plain film or reduce the surgical conversion rate(P>0.05). Conclusion:Compared with routine medical treatment, the external treatment of Chinese medicine for incomplete intestinal obstruction is more effective. However, due to the low quality of some source documents involved in this study, and the limitation of argumentation intensity, the effectiveness cannot be affirmed. It should be further verified in the future by carrying out the clinical studies of high quality with multicenter, great sample size, scientific methods, and standardized operation.
