Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of modified Yiqi Fumai tang combined with metoprolol succinate sustained-release tablets for arrhythmia in coronary heart disease with syndrome of dual deficiency of qi and yin. Methods：A total of 105 cases of patients with arrhythmia in coronary heart disease with syndrome of dual deficiency of qi and yin were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group， 54 and 51 cases in each group respectively. The control group was given routine basic treatment combined with oral administration of metoprolol succinate sustained- release tablets，and the treatment group was additionally traeted with modified Yiqi Fumai tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for three months. The clinical effect in the two groups was compared；the Chinese medicine symptom scores in the two groups before and after treatment were evaluated；the sleep quality of patients was assessed by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI). Results：The total effective rate was 90.20% in the treatment group and 70.37% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the Chinese medicine symptom scores including palpitation，shortness of breath，fatigue，vexation and insomnia， and night sweating as well as the total scores between the two groups(P＞0.05)； after treatment， the above scores and the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the above scores the total score in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the PSQI scores between the two groups(P＞0.05)；after treatment，the PSQI scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the PSQI score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Modified Yiqi Fumai tang combined with metoprolol can improve the clinical effect in treating arrhythmia in coronary heart disease with syndrome of dual deficiency of qi and yin，which can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and the sleep quality of patients.
