Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Jiexiang Dingtong capsules combined with conventional western medicine on post- myocardial infarction angina(PMIA). Methods： Seventy PMIA patients were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the study group，35 cases in each group. The control group was given routine western treatment，and the study group was additionally treated with Jiexiang Dingtong capsules based on the treatment of the control group. After 14 days of treatment，the clinical effect of the two groups was observed and compared；the levels of blood lipid，the duration of angina and the frequency of attacks before and after treatment were compared and analyzed. Results：The total effective rate was 94.3% in the study group，higher than that of 74.3% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference in the comparison of the levels of hyperlipidemia(TG)， total cholesterol(TC) and low- density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL- C) between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the levels of TG，TC and LDL-C in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the above three levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference in the comparison of the frequency and duration of angina attacks between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment， the frequency and duration of angina attacks in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the ones in the study group were less than those in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Jiexiang Dingtong capsules combined with conventional western medicine for PMIA can effectively improve the clinical effect，reduce the level of blood lipid and improve the clinical symptoms of angina.
