Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Sanfu paste for children with allergic rhinitis. Methods:A total of 186 cases of children with allergic rhinitis were selected and divided into the Sanfu paste group(93 cases),the loratadine group (63 cases),and the control group(30 cases) according to treatment method. The control group was given basic treatment of western medicine;the loratadine group was additionally given the oral administration of loratadine based on the treatment of the control group;the Sanfu paste group was additionally given Sanfu paste with Chinese medicine based on the treatment of the control group. The disappearance time of clinical symptoms, the clinical effect, peripheral blood eosinophils(EOS) count, as well as levels of serum specific immunoglobulin E(IgE),interleukin-17(IL-17),and interleukin-22(IL-22) were observed and compared among the three groups. Results:The total effective rate was 97.85% in the Sanfu paste group, higher than that of 87.30% in the loratadine group and that of 70.00% in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the disappearance time of clinical symptoms of the nose and the eyes in the Sanfu paste group was shorter than those in the loratadine group and the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, when compared EOS count as well as levels of IgE, IL- 17, and IL- 22 among the three groups, there was no significance in differences(P>0.05). After treatment, levels of IgE,IL-17,and IL-22 as well as EOS count in the three groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and all indexes above in the Sanfu paste group were lower than those in the loratadine group and the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:In the treatment of children with allergic rhinitis,Sanfu paste can significantly improve their clinical symptoms, reduce EOS count in serum and levels of IgE,IL-17,and IL-22,with a good clinical effect.
