Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modified Chaihu Shugan powder combined with polyene phosphatidylcholine capsules for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH). Methods: A total of 80 cases of NASH patients were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method , 40 cases in each group. The control group was given polyene phosphatidylcholine capsules, and the observation group was additionally treated with modified Chaihu Shugan powder based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effect was compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment, Chinese medicine syndrome scores, scores of type B ultrasound, the liver function, blood lipid index, and levels of inflammatory factors were compared between the two groups. Adverse reactions were recorded. Results:The total effective rate was 92.50% in the observation group, higher than that of 75.00% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment,Chinese medicine syndrome scores and scores of type B ultrasound in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the two scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),γ- Glutamyl transpeptidase(γ-GT),triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-1(IL-1),and interleukin-6(IL-6) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the eight scores above in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). There was no severe medicine- related adverse reaction in the two groups during treatment. Conclusion:The therapy of modified Chaihu Shugan powder combined with polyene phosphatidylcholine capsules for NASH can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of patients, improve the liver function and blood lipid index, and reduce inflammatory responses, with high safety.
