Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modified Suzi Jiangqi tang combined with western medicine for acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD). Methods:A total of 86 cases of patients diagnosed as AECOPD were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,43 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with routine western medicine, and the treatment group was additionally treated with modified Suzi Jiangqi tang. The clinical effect, the lung function indexes and the levels of interleukin- 6(IL- 6), interleukin- 8(IL- 8) and hypoxia- inducible factor- 1α(HIF- 1α) in serum in the two groups were observed and compared. Results: After treatment, the scores of wheezing, coughing and expectoration in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, the difference being significant(P<0.05); the scores in the treatment group were better than those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). The total effective rate was 95.3% in the treatment group and 76.7% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the indexes in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment, and the index in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of modified Suzi Jiangqi tang combined with western medicine for AECOPD has definite clinical effect. When compared with the simple use of western medicine, it can better alleviate clinical symptoms, improve the clinical effect and lung function, and reduce the levels of IL-6,IL-8 and HIF-1α in serum and inflammatory reactions.
