Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of modified Danzhi Xiaoyao powder combined with sodium hyaluronate for dry eye. Methods：A total of 110 cases of patients with dry eye were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the study group，55 cases in each group. The control group was treated with sodium hyaluronate，and the study group was additionally treated with modified Danzhi Xiaoyao powder based on the treatment of the control group. After four- week treatment， clinical effect was observed and compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment， changes in symptom scores，Schirmer I test(SIt)，and tear break-up time(BUT) were observed and compared between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 85.5% in the study group，and 43.6% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of symptom scores between the two groups(P＞0.05)； after treatment， symptom scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the score in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of SIt and BUN between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，levels of SIt and BUT in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the two levels in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P＜ 0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of modified Danzhi Xiaoyao powder combined with sodium hyaluronate for dry eye can reduce clinical symptom scores，increase tear secretion amount and tear break-up time，thus enhancing the clinical effect.
