Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effect of Quyu Tongluo tang combined with acupuncture on the recovery of neuron-specific enolase(NSE) in serum in patients with limb spasm after cerebral apoplexy. Methods:A total of 82 cases of patients with limb spasm after cerebral apoplexy were divided into the study group and the control group by envelope equality method according to the admission number,41 cases in each group. The control group was treated with acupuncture, and the study group was treated with Quyu Tongluo tang combined with acupuncture. The curative effect of Chinese medicine, the recovery of limb function and the recovery levels of serum factor NSE in the two groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate was 87.80% in the study group and 70.73% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the scores of Modified Ashworth Scale(MAS) and Fugl- Meyer Assessment(FMA) as well as NSE between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment,MAS scores and NSE in the two groups were decreased, and the total scores of FMA were increased;the above indexes in the study group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of Quyu Tongluo tang combined with acupuncture for limb spasm after cerebral apoplexy can significantly improve Chinese medicine syndromes, restore limb function, and control the levels of serum factor NSE to promote rehabilitation.
