Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of rapid and safe surgical procedures of integrated Chinese and western medicine for senile intertrochanteric fracture. Methods:A total of 54 cases of patients with senile intertrochanteric fracture were retrospectively selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to different treatment methods,27 cases in each group. The control group was treated with traditional surgical management mode, and the observation group was treated with the rapid and safe surgical procedure of integrated Chinese and western medicine. The operation time, the intraoperative blood loss, the total length of incision, the interval between admission and operation, the hidden blood loss, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) of postoperative pain, the days of hospital stay, the scores of discharge satisfaction, the total cost of hospitalization, the postoperative complications, and the Harris scores of hip joint in three months after operation in the two groups were compared. Results: The interval between admission and operation in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05). The case number of postoperative complications, the days of hospital stay, the total cost and the score of discharge satisfaction in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05). Before operation, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of VAS scores between the two groups(P>0.05). On the first, second and third days after operation respectively, the VAS scores in the two groups were gradually decreased(P<0.05),and the VAS scores at all time points in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: The rapid and safe surgical procedures of integrated Chinese and western medicine for senile patients with intertrochanteric fracture can significantly shorten their hospitalization time, reduce the postoperative complications and relieve their economic burden.
