Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of baicalin on the proliferation and invasion of human prostate cancer cells (PC3) and its mechanism. Methods:CCK-8 was used to detect the effect of baicalin on PC3 proliferation;Transwell test was used to detect the effect of baicalin on PC3 cell invasion ability, and Western blot was used to detect the expression of E-cadherin and pro-apoptotic genes Bax and caspase-3,anti-apoptotic gene Bcl-XL and autophagy-related genes Beclin-1 and LC3B-Ⅱ of PC3 treated with baicalin. Results:Baicalin could inhibit the proliferation and invasion of PC3,and there was a concentration-dependent trend. Baicalin could promote the expression of E-cadherin in PC3. Baicalin could up-regulate the expression of pro- apoptotic genes Bax and caspase- 3, and inhibit the expression of anti- apoptotic gene Bcl- XL in PC. Baicalin could promote the expression of Beclin- 1 and LC3B- Ⅱ in PC3. Conclusion: Baicalin can promote apoptosis and autophagy, increase the expression of E-cadherin,and inhibit the proliferation and invasion ability of PC3.
