Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture with Qingxin Pinggan method combined with spine pinching therapy for children multiple tics. Methods: A total of 90 cases of children with multiple tics were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, 45 cases in each group. The control group was given spine pinching therapy, and the observation group was additionally treated with acupuncture with Qingxin Pinggan method based on the treatment of the control group. Clinical effect,as well as scores of clinical symptoms and the Yale Global Tic Severity Scale(YGTSS) was compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 93.33% in the observation group and 73.33% in the control group, the difference being significant(P< 0.05). Before treatment, when compared symptoms scores(motor tic, verbal tic, reddened complexion and irritability, vexation and shortness of breath) between the two groups, there was no significance in the difference(P>0.05). After treatment, the symptoms scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, the difference being significant(P< 0.05). Before treatment, when compared YGTSS scores(motor tic, verbal tic, tic frequency, tic intensity, tic number) between the two groups, there was no significance in the difference(P>0.05). After treatment, the YGTSS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of acupuncture with Qingxin Pinggan method combined with spine pinching therapy can significantly enhance clinical effect in the treatment of children multiple tics. It can improve clinical symptoms and decrease YGTSS scores.
