Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of point application of Jiangya powder and finger pressure on anti- hypertensive ear clip combined with western medicine on primary hypertension of yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity type. Methods： A total of 80 patients with primary hypertension of yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity type were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the observation group，40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine， and the observation group was treated with point application of Jiangya powder and finger pressure on anti-hypertensive ear clip based on the treatment of control group. Both groups were treated for three weeks. The blood pressure，Chinese medicine syndrome score and levels of serum angiotensin Ⅱ(Ang-Ⅱ) and serum creatinine(SCr) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment；the adverse reactions were observed between the two groups. Results： After treatment， the levels of systolic blood pressure， diastolic blood pressure， Chinese medicine syndrome score and levels of serum Ang- Ⅱand SCR were decreased in both groups when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)；the above indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). No serious adverse reactions were found in both groups. Conclusion：The therapy of point application of Jiangya powder and finger pressure on anti- hypertensive ear clip combined with western medicine for patients with primary hypertension of yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity type，can effectively control their blood pressure and relieve the clinical symptoms，with great safety.
