Abstract： With the global trend of obesity and its metabolic syndrome， metabolic associated fatty liver disease is a serious threat to the health of Chinese people，being the second threatening liver disease after viral hepatitis. Through the exploration of etiology and pathogenesis and on the basis of “turbid toxin theory” of professor LI Diangui，the master of Chinese medicine， this paper has found that the syndrome differentiation and treatment of resolving turbidity and detoxicating，and dissipating stasis and lowering lipid can achieve a good curative effect clinically，which provides a new idea and method for the treatment of the disease，and makes the turbid toxin theory better serve the clinical practice of Chinese medicine.
