Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Qingqi Liangying tang combined with western medicine therapy for ventilator- associated pneumonia(VAP). Methods:A total of 68 cases of VAP patients were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method,34 cases in each group. The control group was treated with western medicine, and the observation group was additionally given the nasal feeding of Qingqi Liangying tang based on the treatment of the control group. The levels of procalcitonin and white blood cells before and after treatment as well as the clinical effect in the two groups were compared;the lung function was detected. Results:The total effective rate was 97.06% in the observation group, higher than that of 82.35% in the control group, the difference being significant(P< 0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of procalcitonin and white blood cells between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of procalcitonin and white blood cells in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of lung function indexes between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the vital capacity(VC), maximum voluntary ventilation(MVV) and forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1) in the two groups were higher than those before treatment(P<0.05),and VC,MVV and FEV1 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Qingqi Liangying tang combined with western medicine therapy for VAP has definite clinical effect, and can effectively relieve clinical symptoms and improve lung function.
