Abstract：This paper introduces Prof.HAN Xue's experience in treating children with lobar pneumonia from dampness， heat and stasis. Lobar pneumonia can be classified as "lung abscess" in Chinese medicine. Prof.HAN Xue believes that the basis of the disease is dampness， heat and stasis； the dampness and heat in the chest and diaphragm， stagnation and steaming of phlegm and saliva，as well as binding of phlegm and stasis result in toxin and into abscess. Therefore，the basic treatment for the disease is to clear heat and clear up phlegm， remove dampness and binding， and invigorate blood and expel pus； and the prescriptions like Maxing Shigan tang， QianjinWeijin tang， Xiaoxianxiong tang and Jiegeng tang are frequently used together and modified according to different symptoms. In the acute stage， when the pathogenic qi exuberates，to dispel pathogen is the main treatment，and the long-going disease damages the healthy qi，resulting in the excess of pathogenic qi and deficiency of healthy qi. Along with dispelling pathogen， the methods of boosting qi and nourishing yin or warming yang and dissolving rheum can make the healthy qi recovered，phlegm-damp resolved and stasis toxin cleared.
