Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture and moxibustion for pregnancy complicated with hypothyroidism. Methods: A total of 86 cases of patients with pregnancy complicated with hypothyroidism were selected and randomly divided into the study group and the control group,43 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with routine treatment; the control group was additionally given acupuncture and moxibustion; the study group was additionally given Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture. Both groups were continuously treated for four weeks. The clinical effect and the outcome of abnormal pregnancy were observed and analyzed in the two groups. The indexes of thyroid function and pregnancy-related hormones were determined in the two groups before and after treatment. The indexes of thyroid function included thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH), free thyroxine(FT4), and the positive rate of thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPO-Ab). Pregnancy-related hormones included progesterone(P) and estrogen(E2). Results:The total effective rate was 97. 67% in the study group, and 88. 37% in the control group, the difference being significant(P< 0.05). After treatment, the positive rates of TPO-Ab in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P< 0.05), and the rate in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of contents of TSH and FT4 between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, contents of TSH in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and contents of FT4 were increased(P<0.05);the improvement of the two indexes in the study group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of contents of P and E2 in serum between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, contents of P and E2 in serum in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the two contents in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). During treatment,no abortion occurred in the two groups. The incidence of the outcome of abnormal pregnancy was 4.65% in the study group, and 16.28% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture and moxibustion with high safety has a good curative effect in the treatment of pregnancy complicated with hypothyroidism, which can regulate levels of thyroid hormones and improve levels of progestogen, with high safety.
