Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Chinese herbal fumigation and washing in the treatment of patients after surgery for anorectal diseases. Methods:A total of 148 cases of patients who underwent surgery for anorectal diseases and met the inclusion criteria were selected and randomly divided into the two groups,74 cases in each group. The control group was treated with potassium permanganate sitz bath, and the observation group was treated with Chinese herbal fumigation and washing. Scores of anal pain, edema, and swelling were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. After treatment, the disappearance time of pain, perianal edema and bloody stool, the wound healing time, and average hospitalization time were compared between the two groups. Clinical effect,as well as the incidence and recurrence rate of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, when compared scores of anal pain, edema, and drooping and swelling sensation in the two groups with those before treatment, there were significance in differences(P<0.05), and the three scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). When compared the disappearance time of pain, perianal edema and bloody stool, the wound healing time, and average hospitalization time between the two groups, there were significance in differences(P< 0.05),and the disappearance time, the wound healing time, and average hospitalization time in the observation group were earlier than those in the control group. The total clinical effective rate was 95.95% in the observation group, and 79.73% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of incidence of rash between the two groups(P>0.05). The comparison of the recurrence rate between the two groups showed significance in the difference(P<0.05). Conclusion: Compared with simple application of potassium permanganate sitz bath, Chinese herbal fumigation and washing in the treatment of patients after surgery for anorectal diseases can significantly relieve anal pain, edema, and swelling, promote the disappearance of pain, perianal edema and bloody stool, wound healing time, and average hospitalization time, and reduce economic cost, with smaller recurrence rate in long-term follow-up.
