Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of filiform fire needling combined with Chinese massage on upper limb spasm after ischemic stroke. Methods:A total of 68 patients with upper limb spasm after ischemic stroke were selected for a prospective study, and the subjects were randomly divided into the study group and the control group,34 cases in each group. The two groups were given the same basic treatment; the control group was additionally treated with Bobath therapy, and the research group was additionally treated with filiform fire needling combined with Chinese massage. After four weeks of treatment, the clinical effect in the two groups was observed, and the degree of upper limb spasticity, motor function and life ability were evaluated before and after treatment. Results:The total effective rate was 97.06% in the study group and 88.24% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the comparison of the scores of Modified Ashworth Scale(MAS), Fugl- Meyer Assessment(FMA) and Barthel Index(BI) between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the MAS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the FMA and BI scores of the upper limb were increased(P<0.05);the improvement of the three indexes above in the study group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of filiform fire needling combined with Chinese massage has a good effect on the improvement of upper limb spasm in patients with ischemic stroke, and can effectively promote the recovery of upper limb motor function and the life ability of patients.
