Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of point application combined with tuina for functional constipation in children of spleen- kidney deficiency type. Methods:A total of 60 cases of children with functional constipation of spleenkidney deficiency type were selected as the research object, and divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method,30 cases in each group. Both groups were given basic treatment;the control group was additionally treated with lactulose oral solution, and the study group was additionally treated with point application combined with tuina. Both groups were treated for two courses, ten days being a course. After treatment, the clinical effect in the two groups was evaluated. Before and after treatment and after three-month follow-up,constipation symptom scores in the two groups were evaluated. Results:The total effective rate was 96.67% in the study group and 76.67% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the symptom scores including defecation difficulty, fecal shape, defecation time, anal bulge and incomplete defecation, defecation frequency and abdominal distension as well as the total scores between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment and three-month follow-up,the above symptom scores and the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05);and in three-month follow-up,the above scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of point application combined with tuina has definite curative effect in treating functional constipation in children of spleen-kidney deficiency type.
