Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of Wenjing Tang on the prevention and treatment of athletic menstrual irregularities rats. Methods: A total of 30 rats were randomly divided into blank group, model group, and Wenjing Tang groups(10 rats in each group). A rat model of athletic menstrual irregularities in aquatic sports was reproduced by exhaustive swimming exercise.Wenjing tang group was given Wenjing Tang gavage,and blank group,model group were given distilled water for a total of 4 weeks.The levels of progesterone(P),estradiol(E2),testosterone(T),luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH) were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) in rats. Results:When compared with the blank group,the FSH content of rats in the model group decreased and the difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05), and the FSH content of rats in the Wenjing Tang group was slightly higher than that of the blank group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05). Compared with the model group, FSH of rats in Wenjing Tang group increased significantly(P<0.05). Although there was no significant difference in LH content among groups(P>0.05), only numerically,the LH content of rats in Wenjing Tang group was the highest,while that of rats in model group was the lowest. Compared with the blank group,the P content of rats in the model group was significantly reduced and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01),while the P content of rats in the Wenjing Tang group was slightly reduced and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05). Compared with the model group,the rats in Wenjing Tang group had a significant rise in P,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with the blank group,the level of T decreased in rats with model group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and it decreased slightly in Wenjing Tang group (P>0.05). Compared with the model group,the T content of rats in Wenjing Tang was numerically higher,but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Compared with the blank group, the E2 content of rats in the model group group significantly decreased,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01),the E2 content of rats in the Wenjing Tang group decreased, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05). Conclusion: Wenjing Tang has a preventive effect on athletic menstrual irregularities.
