Abstract： Objectives： To observe the clinical effect of Baogong Zhixue granules combined with western medicine on abnormal uterine bleeding after medicinal abortion and its effect on sex hormone levels. Methods： A total of 93 cases of patients with abnormal uterine bleeding after medicinal abortion were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method， 46 and 47 in each group respectively. The control group was treated with routine western medicine， and the observation group was additionally treated with Baogong Zhixue granules based on the treatment of the control group. After treatment，the improvement of abnormal uterine bleeding and clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Before and after treatment，the changes of laboratory indexes including matrix metalloproteinase- 9 (MMP- 9)， prothrombin time(PT)， activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT)， fibrinogen(Fib)， and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) as well as sex hormone levels including human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG)， estradiol(E2)， and progesterone(P) in the two groups were compared. Results： After treatment， the disappearance time of intrauterine residue，stop time of vaginal bleeding and vaginal bleeding volume in the observation group were significantly shorter or lower than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the total effective rate was 95.74% in the observation group and 82.61% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment， the levels of Fib and VEGF in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the levels of MMP-9， PT and APTT were increased； the levels of Fib and VEGF in the observation group were lower than those in the control group，and the levels of MMP- 9，PT and APTT were higher，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of P and HCG in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the levels of E2 were increased；the levels of P and HCG in the observation group were lower than those in the control group，and the level of E2 was higher，differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Baogong Zhixue granules combined with western medicine can effectively promote the recovery of coagulation function， shorten the time of vaginal bleeding and intrauterine residue disappearance，reduce vaginal bleeding，relieve clinical symptoms and promote endometrial repair.
