Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of intradermal needle on spastic hemiplegia of upper limbs after ischemic stroke. Methods:A total of 68 patients with spastic hemiplegia of upper limbs after ischemic stroke were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, 34 cases in each group. The two groups were treated with basic internal treatment and upper- limb functional rehabilitation training; the control group was additionally treated with conventional acupuncture and the treatment group was additionally treated with intradermal needle. The Modified Ashworth Scale(MAS),Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA) and Barthel Index of Daily Living Ability(BI) were used to score the upper-limb spasm of patients in both groups before and after treatment. Results: Compared with that in the same group before treatment, the MAS grade of upper limbs in both groups was improved after treatment(P<0.01), and the grade in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05). Compared with those before treatment, the FMA scores of upper limbs and BI scores in both groups were increased after treatment(P<0.01),and the scores in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the total effective rate was 91.18% in the treatment group, higher than that of 82.35% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: Intradermal needle can effectively relieve spasticity, improve motor function of upper limbs and enhance the quality of life in patients with spastic hemiplegia of upper limbs after ischemic stroke, whose therapeutic effect is more significant than that of the conventional acupuncture.
