Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Guizhi Fuling capsules combined with cefuroxime sodium for chronic pelvic inflammatory disease and its effect on inflammatory responses and antioxidant indexes. Methods: A total of 112 cases of patients with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 56 cases in each group. The control group was treated with cefuroxime sodium, and the observation group was additionally treated with Guizhi Fuling capsules based on the treatment of the control group. The changes in the levels of inflammatory factors including tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF-α),interleukin-2(IL-2) and IL- 6 as well as oxidation indexes including superoxide dismutase(SOD), malonaldehyde(MDA) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH- Px) before and after treatment in the two groups were compared;the clinical effects and the incidences of adverse reactions in the two groups were counted. Results: The total effective rate was 94.64% in the observation group, higher than that of 80.36% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of TNF-α,IL-2 and IL-6 between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of IL-2 and IL-6 in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the levels of TNF- α were lower(P<0.05); the levels of IL- 2 and IL- 6 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the level of TNF-α was lower(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the levels of SOD,MDA and GSH-Px between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of SOD and GSH- Px in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment, and the levels of SOD and GSH-Px in the observation group were higher than those in the control group;MDA levels in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and MDA level in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 3.57% in the observation group and 8.93% in the control group, there being no significant difference between the two groups(χ2=0.242,P=1.371). Conclusion: The therapy of Guizhi Fuling capsules combined with cefuroxime sodium has a significant curative effect in treating chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, which can effectively improve the antioxidant capacity of patients, and reduce inflammatory responses with good safety.
