Abstract： Objective： To observe the curative effect of Yixinshu tablets combined with western medicine for cardiac neurosthenia and its effect on symptoms including anxious and depressive moods. Methods：A total of 80 cases of patients with cardiac neurosthenia were selected as the study objects，and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method， with 40 cases in each group. Both group were given routine symptomatic treatment； the control group was additionally given the oral administration of venlafaxine hydrochloride sustained- release capsules， and the observation group was additionally treated with Yixinshu tablets based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for one month. The incidences of adverse reactions during treatment and the clinical effects in the two groups were observed. Before and after treatment，the changes in scores of Zung Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Self- rating Depression Scale(SDS)， as well as cardiac autonomic nerve function including differences of heart rates during deep breath and vertical-horizontal position， and ratio of the 30th to the 15th R-R intervals after standing up(30∶ 15 ratio) in the two groups were compared. Results：After treatment，the total effective rate of clinical effect was 97.5% in the observation group， higher than that of 85.0% in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). During treatment， the adverse reactions in the two groups mainly included dry mouth， nausea， dizziness， loss of appetite and constipation；the incidence of adverse reactions was 12.5% in the observation group and 32.5% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of SDS and SAS in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment， and the above two scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，the values of differences of heart rates during deep breath and vertical- horizontal position were increased when compared with those before treatment， and the above two values in the observation group were higher than those in the control group， the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Yixinshu tablets combined with western medicine has a good curative effect in treating cardiac neurosthenia with higher medication safety，which can improve anxious and depressive moods and promote the recovery of cardiac autonomic nerve function.
