Abstract:Objectives:To observe the clinical effect of Zhachong Shisanwei pills combined with warming- wax therapy for patients with cerebral infarction in convalescent stage and its effect on neurological function and activity ability. Methods: A total of 122 cases of patients with cerebral infarction in convalescent stage were given a retrospective analysis on their clinical data and were divided into the control group and the treatment group according to different treatment methods,with 61 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment,and the treatment group was additionally treated with Zhachong Shisanwei pills combined with warming-wax therapy based on the treatment of the control group. Before and after treatment,the changes of scores of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),Activity of Daily Living Scale(ADL), Rivermead Mobility Index(RMI),Berg Balance Scale(BBS),upper-extremity motor subscale of simplified Fugl-Meyer motor function assessment(S- FMMFA upper extremity) and lower- extremity motor subscale of simplified Fugl- Meyer motor function assessment(S- FMMFA lower extremity) in the two groups were compared, and the clinical effects and adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results: The total effective rate was 95.08% in the treatment group, higher than that of 83.61% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the NIHSS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores of ADL,RMI,BBS,S-FMMFA upper extremity and S- FMMFA lower extremity were increased(P<0.05); the NIHSS score in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the scores of ADL,RMI,BBS,S- FMMFA upper extremity and S- FMMFA lower extremity were higher(P<0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion: Zhachong Shisanwei pills combined with warming- wax therapy has a definite curative effect on patients with cerebral infarction in convalescent stage,which can effectively promote the recovery of neurological function,and improve their quality of life and limb activity ability,with few adverse reactions.
