Abstract:Objective:To observe the curative effect and safety of acupuncture at scalp point combined with mouse nerve growth factor for children with autism spectrum disorder. Methods: A total of 52 cases of children with autism spectrum disorder were retrospectively analyzed and divided into the observation group and the control group according to different treatment plans. After comprehensive assessment, both groups were treated with rehabilitation training and mouse nerve growth factor for injection, and the observation group was additionally treated with acupuncture at scalp point. Both groups were treated for three months. The clinical effects in the two groups were observed. Before and after treatment, the changes in the scores of Childhood Autism Rating Scale(CARS) and Autism Behavior Checklist(ABC) in the two groups were compared. During treatment, the incidences of adverse reactions in the two groups were observed. Results:After treatment,CARS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of sensation, communication, movement, language and self- care ability as well as the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment, and the above six scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, differences being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the total effective rate of clinical effect was 75.00% in the observation group and 37.50% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). During treatment,no adverse reaction occurred in the two groups. Conclusion:The therapy of acupuncture at scalp point combined with mouse nerve growth factor for children with autism spectrum disorder has a good clinical effect, and can improve their language, sensation, communication and other abilities with high safety.
