Abstract： Objective： To explore and analyze the characteristics of acupoint catgut embedding in the treatment of asthma. Methods：By searching the four databases of CNKI， VIP， Wanfang and PubMed， from the establishment of the database to September 2019， the literature on clinical research of acupoint catgut embedding in the treatment of asthma was established， and the acupoint selection database was established to analyze the characteristics and laws of acupoint catgut embedding in the treatment of asthma. Results： A total of 139 literatures were included and 53 acupoints appeared. After statistical analysis of the acupoints， it was found that the selection of acupoints for acupoint catgut embedding in the treatment of asthma has certain characteristics and rules. Acupoints can be selected mainly from two aspects of traditional medicine and modern medicine. Traditional medicine mostly selects acupoints from syndrome differentiation， meridian differentiation and disease stages， while modern medicine mainly considers the location and action mechanism of acupoints. Conclusion：Acupoint catgut embedding therapy for asthma is the result of the interaction between traditional medicine and modern medicine. Acupoint selection should be considered from these two aspects in order to optimize the acupoint selection scheme of acupoint catgut embedding therapy for asthma.
