Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Juanbi tang combined with auricular point sticking for knee osteoarthritis(KOA) of cold- dampness impediment type. Methods： A total of 100 cases of KOA patients who met the inclusion criteria were divided into two groups according to the random number table method，with 50 cases in each group. The control group was given the oral administration of celecoxib capsules combined with glucosamine hydrochloride tablets， and the observation group was additionally treated with Juanbi tang combined with auricular point sticking based on the treatment plan of the control group. Both groups were treated for four weeks. Before and after treatment， the scores of symptoms， score of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) for pain， Western Ontario and McMaster University Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC)， and Quality of Life Scale SF- 36 in the two groups were compared. The clinical effects and the incidences of adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results：After treatment，the scores of symptoms，VAS and WOMAC in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment， and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，SF-36 scores in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment，and the score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group， differences being significant(P＜0.05). The total effective rate of clinical effect was 96.00% in the observation group and 80.00% in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was 6.00% in observation group and 4.00% in control group，there being no significant difference(P＞0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of Juanbi tang combined with auricular point sticking has a good curative effect in treating KOA of cold-dampness impediment type，which can significantly relieve the pain，improve the knee joint function and enhance the quality of life of patients.
