Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of HE's Xiaozhong Zhitong ointment for swelling before operation for Pilon fracture and its effect on levels of interleukin- 6(IL-6) and C-reactive protein(CRP) in serum. Methods ： A total of 50 cases of patients with swelling before operation for Pilon fracture were divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method， 25 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment，and the treatment group was additionally treated with HE's Xiaozhong Zhitong ointment based on the treatment of the control group. Before and after treatment，the local average daily regression rate of swelling and levels of IL-6 and CRP in serum in the two groups were compared. Results：After treatment，the local average daily regression rate of swelling in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment for 48 and 96 hours，the levels of IL- 6 and CRP in serum in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the levels of IL- 6 and CRP in serum in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion： HE's Xiaozhong Zhitong ointment can effectively relieve the early inflammatory reactions in patients with Pilon fracture，so as to quickly reduce the swelling and shorten the waiting time before operation.
