Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Duhuo Jisheng tang assisting ozone nucleus pulposus ablation for discogenic low back pain(DLBP). Methods：A total of 90 cases of DLBP patients were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method，with 45 cases in each group. The control group was given ozone nucleus pulposus ablation，and the observation group was additionally treated with the oral administration of Duhuo Jisheng tang based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Before and after treatment，scores of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) for pain evaluation and Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA)， as well as the expression of inflammatory factors including interleukin- 1(IL- 1)， interleukin- 6(IL- 6) and tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α) in serum were detected. Results：The total effective rate was 95.56% in the observation group， higher than that of 82.22% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of VAS scores between the two groups(P＞0.05). In one month，three months and six months after treatment，VAS scores in the two groups were gradually decreased(P＜0.05)，and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of JOA scores between the two groups(P＞0.05). In one month，three months and six months after treatment， JOA scores in the two groups were gradually increased(P＜0.05)， and the scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Before treatment，there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of IL-1，IL-6 and TNF-α between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，levels of IL-1，IL-6 and TNF-α in the two groups were lower than those before treatment，and the three levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Duhuo Jisheng tang assisting ozone nucleus pulposus ablation has a good curative effect on patients with DLBP，which can reduce pain degree and the expression of inflammatory factors in serum，and improve the spinal function.
