Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of the therapy of Yiqi Yangyin Lishui prescription combined with routine western medicine on elderly patients with chronic heart failure(CHF) and its effect on the heart function and hemodynamic parameters of patients. Methods:A total of 123 elderly patients with CHF were selected and divided into the control group group and the observation group according to the coin tossing method, with 61 cases and 62 cases in each group respectively. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the observation group was additionally treated with Yiqi Yangyin Lishui prescription based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for eight weeks. The changes of levels of indexes of the heart function and hemodynamics before and after treatment in the two groups were compared and the clinical effects were evaluated. Results:After treatment,the levels of left ventricular endsystolic diameter(LVESD),left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD) and brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) in the two groups were significantly decreased,and the left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) was significantly increased,and the above levels in the observation group were better than those in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of cardiac output(CO), cardiac index(CI) and stroke volume(SV) in the two groups were significantly increased when compared with those before treatment,and the above levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the level of systematic vascular resistance(SVR) and readmission rate were lower than those in the control group,differences being significant(P<0.05). The total effective rate was 93.55% in the observation group,higher than that of 70.49% in the control group,the difference being significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of Yiqi Yangyin Lishui prescription combined with routine western medicine for elderly patients with CHF has a significant curative effect, which can significantly improve the heart function and hemodynamic indexes of patients,and reduce the readmission rate.
