Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of intense pulsed light combined with Tiaochong Xiaocuo tang for acne of disharmony of the thoroughfare and conception vessels type. Methods:A total of 62 cases of patients with acne of disharmony of the thoroughfare and conception vessels type were selected as the research objects and randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 31 cases in each group. Both groups cleaned their facial skin with warm water and were given high- quality nursing. The control group was additionally treated with intense pulsed light, and the observation group was additionally treated with intense pulsed light combined with Tiaochong Xiaocuo tang. Both groups were treated for two months. The degrees of skin lesion and Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after treatment as well as the clinical effects and adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate was 93.55% in the observation group, significantly higher than that of 80.65% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of number, range, color, and sebum secretion of skin lesion as well as the Chinese medicine syndrome scores of pruritus, red complexion, dry mouth, thirst, yellow urine, constipation and abnormal tongue manifestation in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05); the scores of number, range, color, and sebum secretion of skin lesion as well as the Chinese medicine syndrome scores of abnormal tongue manifestation in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion:Intense pulse light combined with Tiaochong Xiaocuo tang has a good clinical effect on acne of disharmony of the thoroughfare and conception vessels type, which can alleviate the degree of skin lesion and reduce the Chinese medicine syndrome score, without increasing the incidence of adverse reactions.
