Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Xiefei tang combined with routine western medicine on chronic heart failure. Methods： A total of 110 patients with chronic heart failure were retrospectively selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to different treatment methods，with 55 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine， and the observation group was additionally treated with Yiqi Xiefei tang based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Before and after treatment， the levels of serum N- terminal pro- B- type natriuretic peptide (NT- pro BNP)， C- reactive protein (CRP)， left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF)， Six- Mintue Walk Test (6MWT) and Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire (MLHFQ) in the two groups were detected. Results：The total effective rate was 89.1% in the observation group，higher than that of 72.7% in the control group， the difference being significant (P＜0.05). Before treatment， there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of NT- Pro BNP， CRP， LVEF， 6MWT and MLHFQ between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment， the levels of NT- Pro BNP， CRP and MLHFQ in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment，and the above levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P＜0.05)； the levels of LVEF and 6MWT in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment，and the above levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Yiqi Xiefei tang combined with routine western medicine for chronic heart failure has a good curative effect， which can improve the heart function，exercise endurance and the quality of life of patients.
