Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of acupuncture combined with mecobalamine on the treatment of traumatic peripheral facial nerve injury. Methods: A total of 80 patients with traumatic peripheral facial nerve injury were selected as the research objects, and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 40 cases in each group. Both groups received conventional treatment, while the control group was additionally treated with an oral administration of mecobalamine, and the observation group additionally received acupuncture based on the treatment of the control group. The modified Portmann simple scores before and after treatment were compared between the two groups, and the clinical effect was compared between the two groups. Results: Compared with those before treatment, the modified Portmann simple scores in both groups were increased after treatment(P<0.05); compared with that in the control group, the modified Portmann simple score was higher in the observation group after treatment(P<0.05). The total effective rate was 92.50% in the observation group, significantly higher than that of 75.00% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of acupuncture combined with mecobalamine is an effective method for the treatment of traumatic peripheral facial nerve injury, which can improve the facial symptoms of patients and improve the clinical effect.
