Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of modified Buyang Huanwu tang combined with diosmin for chronic venous insufficiency of lower limbs. Methods:A total of 52 cases of patients with chronic venous insufficiency of lower limbs were divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table method, with 26 cases in each group. The control group was treated with diosmin, and the treatment group was additionally treated with modified Buyang Huanwu tang based on the treatment of the control group. After eight- week treatment, the clinical effects and symptoms scores as well as changes in levels of inflammatory factors including interleukin-6(IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor- α(TNF- α) in serum in the two groups were observed. Results:The total effective rate was 92.31% in the treatment group and 69.23% in the control group, the difference being significant(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of pain,a sense of heaviness, swelling and reflux time of deep vein blood flow between the two groups(P>0.05); after treatment, the above symptom scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of levels of inflammatory factors including IL-6 and TNF- α in serum between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment, the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Modified Buyang Huanwu tang combined with diosmin has a significant curative effect in treating chronic venous insufficiency of lower limbs, which can effectively relieve clinical symptoms and inflammatory responses.
