Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of wet compressing with Mahuang tincture for diabetic foot dry gangrene. Methods：A total of 100 cases of patients with diabetic foot dry gangrene were divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method，with 50 cases in each group. Based on routine treatment， the control group was treated with iodine complex，and the study group was treated with wet compressing with Mahuang tincture. Before and after treatment，the levels of nitric oxide(NO)，endothelin-1(ET-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and the wound areas in the two groups were compared. After treatment， the healing degree of wounds， hospitalization time，formation time of defended field and clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Results：After treatment，the levels of NO in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the levels of ET-1 and VEGF were decreased(P＜0.05)，and the wound areas were decreased(P＜0.05)；the level of NO and healing degree of wounds in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05)，the levels of ET- 1 and VEGF were lower(P＜0.05)， the wound area was smaller(P＜0.05)， and the hospitalization time and formation time of defended field were shorter(P＜0.05). The total effective rate was 96.00% in the study group，higher than that of 82.00% in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Wet compressing with Mahuang tincture for diabetic foot dry gangrene can improve vascular endothelial function and clinical effect，promote the healing of wounds，and shorten the formation time of defended field and hospitalization time.
