Abstract： Objective： To observe the effect of Yupingfeng powder combined with modified Buzhong Yiqi tang and mometasone furoate aqueous nasal spray on adenoid hypertrophy of lung-spleen qi deficiency type in children. Methods：A total of 84 children with adenoidal hypertrophy of lung- spleen qi deficiency type were divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method， with 42 cases in each group. The control group was treated with mometasone furoate aqueous nasal spray， and the study group was additionally treated with Yupingfeng powder combined with modified Buzhong Yiqi tang based on the treatment of mometasone furoate aqueous nasal spray. Both groups were treated for four weeks. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Before and after treatment，the Chinese medicine syndrome scores， including the scores of nasal congestion， snoring， breathing with the mouth open and accompanying symptoms and total scores，were evaluated. The results of adenoid endoscopic grading and the improvement of cell function indexes were observed. The incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups was counted. Results：After four weeks of treatment，the total clinical effective rate was 90.48% in the study group，higher than that of 73.81% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). The scores of nasal congestion，snoring，breathing with the mouth open， accompanying symptoms and total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05)； the above scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). Adenoid hypertrophy in the two groups was improved(P＜0.05)，and the improvement of adenoid hypertrophy in the study group was better than that in the control group(P＜0.05). The level of CD4 + and ratio of CD4 +/CD8 + in the study group were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the levels of lgG and lgA were increased(P＜0.05)；there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the above four indexes in the control group before and after treatment (P＞0.05). The level of CD4+ and ratio of CD4+/CD8+ in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05)， the level of IgA was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05). During treatment，no serious adverse reactions that related to the treatment were found in both groups. Conclusion： The therapy of Yupingfeng powder combined with modified Buzhong Yiqi tang and mometasone furoate aqueous nasal spray has a significant curative effect on adenoid hypertrophy in children，which can significantly alleviate the clinical symptoms of children，reduce the adenoids and improve the immune function of children，with a definite curative effect and great safety.
