Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with hyperbaric oxygen and infrared radiation for diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN). Methods:A total of 96 cases of DPN patients were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 48 cases in each group. The control group was treated with hyperbaric oxygen and infrared radiation, and the observation group was treated with acupuncture combined with hyperbaric oxygen and infrared radiation. Both groups were treated for three weeks. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared. Before and after treatment, the nerve conduction velocity and the levels of serum inflammatory factors and plasma homocysteine(Hcy) in the two groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate was 93.75% in the observation group, higher than that of 79.17% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the conduction velocity of sensory nerve and motor nerve in median nerve and common peroneal nerve in the two groups was increased when compared with that before treatment(P<0.05), and the above conduction velocities in the observation group were faster than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of interleukin(IL)- 1β,IL- 6 and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF- α) in serum and plasma Hcy in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the above levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: The therapy of acupuncture combined with hyperbaric oxygen and infrared radiation has a good clinical effect in treating DPN, which can improve the conduction velocity of sensory and motor nerves, and reduce the levels of serum inflammatory factors and plasma Hcy.
