Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Runfei Qutan Zhike tang combined with western medicine therapy for post- infectious cough. Methods:A total of 76 cases of patients with post- infectious cough were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 38 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the observation group was additionally treated with Runfei Qutan Zhike tang based on the treatment of the control group. Clinical effects were evaluated in the two groups. Before and after treatment, scores of daytime cough and nighttime cough as well as Leicester Cough Questionnaire(LCQ) were compared between the two groups. Results:The total clinical effective rate was 94.74% in the observation group, higher than that of 78.95% in the control group, the difference being significant(χ 2=4.15,P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of daytime cough and nighttime cough between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, scores of daytime cough and nighttime cough in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05), and the two scores in the observation groups were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference being found in the comparison of scores of each item in LCQ between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment, score of each item in LCQ in the two groups was increased when compared with that before treatment(P<0.05),and each score in the observation groups was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Runfei Qutan Zhike tang combined with western medicine therapy has a defined curative effect in the treatment of post-infectious cough, which can obviously improve cough symptoms and quality of life.
