Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of modified Wanfei Yin on bronchiectasis with syndrome of deficiency of qi and yin. Methods:A total of 70 patients with bronchiectasis with syndrome of deficiency of qi and yin were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional symptomatic treatment, and the observation group was additionally given modified Wanfei Yin based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for two weeks. The clinical effects,Chinese medicine syndrome scores and lung function indexes before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 94.29% in the observation group, higher than that of 71.43% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of dry cough, mental fatigue and lack of strength, spontaneous sweating, and feverish feeling in palms and soles in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of peak expiratory flow(PEF),forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1) and its percentage of predicted value(FEV1%pred) were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the above levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Modified Wanfei Yin can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms and improve the lung function of patients with bronchiectasis with syndrome of deficiency of qi and yin.
