Abstract： Objective： To evaluate the clinical effect of the therapy of Xiaoyao pills assisted estradiol valerate on the treatment of irregular menstruation of liver depression and spleen deficiency type. Methods： A total of 83 patients with irregular menstruation of liver depression and spleen deficiency type were selected as the research objects and were divided into the control group and the treatment group by random number table method，with 40 cases and 43 cases in each group respectively. The control group was treated with estradiol valerate， and the treatment group was additionally treated with Xiaoyao pills based on the treatment of the control group. After three courses of continuous treatment，the clinical effect and changes of hormone levels in the two groups were evaluated. Results：After treatment，the total effective rate was 95.35% in the treatment group，significantly higher than that of 75.00% in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of serum progesterone(P)，estradiol(E2) and luteinizing hormone(LH) in both groups were significantly increased when compared with those before treatment， while the levels of prolactin(PRL) and follicle stimulating hormone(FSH) were significantly decreased(P＜0.05)；the improvement of the above hormone levels in treatment group was better than that in control group (P＜0.05). During the treatment，the incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group was 4.66%，lower than that of 22.50% in the control group(P＜0.05). Conclusion：The additional application of Xiaoyao pills assisted estradiol valerate has definite clinical effect on the treatment of patients with irregular menstruation of liver depression and spleen deficiency type， which can effectively regulate the hormone levels and reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions.
