Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Shenqi Yinhua Fuzheng Jiedu tang combined with acyclovir tablets for senile herpes zoster. Methods：A total of 86 cases of patients(over 60 years old) with herpes zoster were selected and divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method，with 43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with acyclovir tablets， and the treatment group was additionally treated with Shenqi Yinhua Fuzheng Jiedu tang based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for 14 days. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared； the regression time of symptoms， the incidence of adverse reactions and the postherpetic neuralgia in the two groups were compared. Results：The total effective rate of clinical effect was 93.02% in the treatment group and 79.07% in the control group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). The time of controlling herpes， incrustation and analgesia in the treatment group was shorter than that in the control group，differences being significant(P＜ 0.05). During the treatment，the incidence of adverse reactions was 6.97% in the control group and 16.27% in the treatment group，there being no significant difference between the two groups(P＞0.05). After two months of follow-up，there were two cases of neuralgia in the treatment group and the incidence of neuralgia was 7.14%；there were four cases of neuralgia in the control group and the incidence was 22.22% ； there was no significant difference between the two groups(P＞0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of Shenqi Yinhua Fuzheng Jiedu tang combined with acyclovir tablets for senile herpes zoster has a significant curative effect，which can accelerate the time of controlling herpes，incrustation and analgesia.
