Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of Chinese herbal soaking application combined with infrared radiation and compound betamethasone injection for herpes zoster. Methods：A total of 104 cases of patients with herpes zoster were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，with 52 cases in each group. The control group was treated with infrared radiation and compound betamethasone injection，and the observation group was additionally treated with Chinese herbal soaking application and wet compressing. Both groups were treated for two weeks. The clinical effects in the two groups were compared， and the changes in the scores of Numerical Rating Scale(NRS) of pain，the symptom relief time and the levels of inflammatory factors including interleukin- 2 (IL-2)，interleukin-6(IL-6) and interleukin-10(IL-10) before and after treatment in the two groups were compared. Results： The total effective rate of clinical effect was 69.23% in the control group and 88.46% in the observation group，the difference being significant(P＜0.05). After treatment，NRS scores in the two groups were decreased，and the score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of serum IL- 2 in the two groups were increased，and the levels of IL-6 and IL-10 were decreased；the level of serum IL-2 in the observation group was higher than that in the control group，and the levels of IL- 6 and IL-10 were lower，the difference being sighificant(P＜0.05). The time of controlling herpes， incrustation and decrustation in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group，differences being significant(P＜0.05). Conclusion：The therapy of Chinese herbal soaking application combined with infrared radiation and compound betamethasone injection for herpes zoster can effectively improve inflammatory degree， relieve pain and promote herpes regression in patients.
