Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of warming- needle moxibustion on nerve- root type cervical spondylosis with syndrome of wind-cold obstructing collaterals. Methods:A total of 80 patients with nerve-root type cervical spondylosis with syndrome of wind-cold obstructing collaterals were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with cervical traction combined with Jingshu granules, and the observation group was additionally treated with warmingneedle moxibustion based on the treatment of the control group. Both groups were treated for four weeks. The clinical effects and the scores of Clinical Assessment Scale for Cervical Spondylosis(CASCS),Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Neck Disabilitv Index(NDI) before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 95.00% in the observation group, higher than that of 75.00% in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, the CASCS scores in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.05), and the VAS and NDI scores were decreased(P<0.05);the CASCS score in observation group was higher than that in control group(P<0.05),and the VAS and NDI scores were lower(P<0.05). Conclusion: Warming- needle moxibustion has a significant therapeutic effect on nerveroot type cervical spondylosis with syndrome of wind-cold obstructing collaterals, which can improve the clinical symptoms and cervical function of patients.
