Abstract：This paper analyzes the ideas of using Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation to treat Epstein- Barr virus (EBV) related diseases based on the yin- yang theory. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of "intersection" and "transmutation" in the yin- yang theory， EBV itself is the combination of the intersection of yin and yang. EBV- related diseases，such as infectious mononucleosis，nasopharyngeal carcinoma and malignant lymphoma，not only have their own characteristics，but also show the common characteristics of latent yin and stirring yang. Therefore，the treatment should be determined according to the exuberance and decline of yin and yang as well as the situation of latent yin and stirring yang.
