Abstract:Starting from the liver, heart, spleen and kidney,National Famous Chinese Medicine Practitioner TAN Feng believes that the basis of the post-stroke depression is mainly qi depression in the early stage, and then develops into blood depression, while spiritual depression runs through the whole course of the disease. On this basis,he puts forward "three methods of treating depression",that is,to soothe the liver and rectify qi in the early stage,to invigorate blood and dissolve stasis in the middle stage, and to nourish the yin of liver and kidney and clear the heat of yin deficiency in the late stage. He emphasizes the need for early identification and intervention of patients with post-stroke depression, and early intervention and prevention should be carried out when the "disease" has occurred while the"depression" hasn't been formed, so as to "treat disease before it arises". It will be beneficial to the overall rehabilitation of patients and improve the quality of life.
