Abstract： Objective： To observe the curative effect of Dahuang Mudan tang combined with laparoscopic surgery for acute appendicitis and its effect on inflammatory factors in serum. Methods： A total of 132 cases of patients with acute appendicitis were divided into the study group and the control group according to the random number table method， with 66 cases in each group. The control group was treated with laparoscopic surgery， and the study group was treated with Dahuang Mudan tang at 12 hours after laparoscopic surgery for one week. Before and after treatment，the serum indexes， Chinese medicine syndrome scores and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) scores in the two groups were compared. The clinical effects，recovery time of gastrointestinal function and incidence of complications in the two groups were compared. Results： The total effective rate was 96.97% in the study group and 90.91% in the control group，there being no significance in the difference(P＞0.05). After treatment，Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment， and the score in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the levels of interleukin-6(IL-6)，interleukin-8(IL-8)，C-reactive protein(CRP)，tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and procalcitonin(PCT) in serum in the two groups were higher than those before treatment，and the above indexes in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， VAS scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，there being no significance in the difference between the two groups(P＞0.05). After treatment，the recovery time of bowel sound，the exhaust time and the defecation time in the study group were shorter than those in the control group(P＜0.05)，and the total incidence of complications in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P＞0.05). Conclusion：Dahuang Mudan tang combined with laparoscopic surgery for acute appendicitis has a superior clinical effect，and can relieve Chinese medicine symptoms and inflammatory responses and reduce pain and incidence of complications.
