Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of modified Shenghua tang assiting to treat incomplete medical abortion in early pregnancy. Methods： A total of 358 patients who had undergone medical abortion but with incomplete abortion were selected and divided into the treatment group(130 cases) and the control group(128 cases) according to random number table method. Both groups had undergone medical abortion；the control group was additionally treated with oxytocin combined with adrenal hydrazone tablets， and the treatment group was additionally treated with modified Shenghua tang based on the treatment of the control group. All patients were treated for seven days. The clinical effects，symptom scores of syndrome of qi deficiency and blood stasis，vaginal bleeding time，menstrual recovery time and levels of serum sex hormone were compared between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 94.62% in the treatment group，higher than that of 81.25% in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the symptom scores of syndrome of qi deficiency and blood stasis and levels of β- chorionic gonadotropin(β- HCG) in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the levels of serum estradiol(E2) were increased(P＜0.05). After treatment，the symptom score of syndrome of qi deficiency and blood stasis and the level of β-HCG in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05)，and the level of E2 was higher(P＜0.05). The vaginal bleeding time in the treatment group was shorter than that in the control group，and the menstrual recovery time was earlier(P＜0.05). Conclusion：Modified Shenghua tang has a definite therapeutic effect on assiting to treat incomplete medical abortion in early pregnancy，which can shorten the time of vaginal bleeding，regulate the levels of sex hormone and promote body recovery.
