Abstract：Objective：To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of Shenfu tang combined with modified Guizhi Gancao Longgu Muli tang and western medicine on chronic heart failure(CHF). Methods： A total of 200 patients with CHF were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method，with 100 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine，and the observation group was additionally treated with Shenfu tang combined with Guizhi Gancao Longgu Muli tang based on the treatment of the control group. The clinical effects，indexes of the heart function and blood lipid，scores of Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire and Six- Minute Walk Test before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results：The total effective rate was 95.00% in the observation group，higher than that of 85.00% in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the contents of triglyceride(TG)， low- density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL- C) and total cholesterol(TC) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the contents of high- density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL- C) were increased(P＜0.05)；the improvement of blood lipid indexes in the observation group was greater than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment， the levels of left ventricular end- diastolic diameter(LVEDD)， left ventricular end- systolic diameter(LVESD)， N- terminal pro- brain natriuretic peptide(NT- proBNP) and B- type natriuretic peptide(BNP) in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)， and the levels of left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) were increased；the improvement of the heart function indexes in the observation group was greater than that in the control group(P＜0.05). After treatment，the scores of quality of life in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P＜0.05)，and the six-minute walking distances were increased(P＜0.05)；the score of quality of life in the observation group was lower， and the six- minute walking distance was longer(P＜0.05). Conclusion： The therapy of Shenfu tang combined with modified Guizhi Gancao Longgu Muli tang and western medicine has an obvious curative effect on CHF，which can improve the heart function and blood lipid of patients and enhance their quality of life.
