Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the therapy of modified Longdan Xiegan tang combined with pregabalin on postherpetic neuralgia(PHN) of head and face. Methods: A total of 108 patients with PHN were selected as research objects, and divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method, with 54 cases in each group. The control group was conventionally treated with pregabalin, and the observation group was additionally treated with modified Longdan Xiegan tang based on the treatment of the control group. The scores of Short- Form McGill Pain Questionnaire(SF-MPQ),quality of life(SF-36),Asens Insomnia Scale(AIS),Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, each scores of SF-MPQ and the scores of AIS,SDS and SAS in both groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the decrease range in the observation group was greater than that in the control group(P<0.05). After treatment, each score of SF-36 of quality of life in both groups was increased when compared with that before treatment(P< 0.05),and each score of SF-36 in the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of modified Longdan Xiegan tang combined with pregabalin can relieve symptoms of pain, depression and anxiety, and improve the sleep and life quality of PHN patients.
